  • We've been renting our house for 5 years and our AC/Heat bills have always been high. We just found out that the garage that our landlord converted into a bedroom has no insulation. Does this room legally need to be insulated? And if so, is he responsible to refund us a portion for the unusually high bills?

  • I am a condo owner, I live in the unit and rent out my 2nd bedroom to someone. We have a lease, and we have also been working under the agreement that we switch off paying for things that we share, for example paper towels, light bulbs in the common areas, etc. However, she is now refusing to purchase a new furnace filter, saying that is a 'maintenance item' and is my responsibility. I think this falls under the 'damages due to negligence' clause in the lease. I plan to take the cost of the filters out of her last month's rent and her lease-end date be moved up accordingly. Is that legal?
  • My son was killed by Tucson Police on 4/17/2014 and was not notified. Found out online. I went to retrieve his property and was told I had to wait because case was under investigation and they would let me know when I could retrieve his vehicle. My mom (son grandma) received a letter saying that nobody has come to claim property and in order to retrieve it we have to pay storage. Why do we have to pay anything. They held it for investigation and now want to charge us for it on top of killing my son. What can I do?
  • My son was was recently taken from his father by CPS because he was suspected of substance abuse and unable to provide proper care. I'm the mother and was incarcerated at the time. CPS placed my son temporarily with his fraternal grandmother. I was released on Saturday so i have to wait for mMonday to contact CPS. Is there any reason why my son shouldn't be home with me? Would I be hurting my case if I showed up and brought my son home myself?
