  • My husband and I rented a very small 3 bed room house. Very basic but perfect for us. We’ve had some health issues so our adult grandson has been living with us for about a month. I contacted the owner. He’s raised our rent to 1100 a month. Homes for rent in this area are renting for 800.00 a month. This home was built in the early 70s and is very small under 1000 sq foot. Newer nicer homes are renting for 1100 a month. Much nicer and updated homes. We have never been late on rent and he has raised our rent every year but homes in this older but nice neighborhood are not near worth 1100 ???
  • My father (73) was diagnosed with lung cancer few months ago. I do not know how much time he has left. He owns a house in Mesa, and my sister lives with him. The house is under his name and he has a will that divides evrything he owns 50-50 between my sister and me. Now, when he passes away, can my sister still be in the house and assume mortgage payment? If my sister and I want to sell the house after my father's departure, can we do that? If so, how does that work?
  • What is the correct procedure for serving a 5 day notice to a tenant? Does it need to be served via certified mail or can it just be taped or put on the tenant's door? Thanks for answering.

  • I am a truck driver and I drive the company truck. My company is asking me to sign a policy in which if there is any damage to the truck I will have to pay out my own pocket. If we do not sign the policy we will be fired. Is this legal? What type of attorney would I hire to review the policy?
  • My sister’s landlord accepted my sisters money orders for rent, but did not cash them or pay the management co. They are now trying to charge her late fees or evict. My sister got the money orders back. They are all dated as proof of payment, but the company is insisting she pay the late fees. They have a court order for eviction. What are her rights? She has the MO’s as proof! Should she go to court?
