  • I have lived in the current house for 3 1/2 years. First 2 years we signed a lease. When it came time to sign a 3rd one the landlord said after 2 she doesn't require any more and we would just go month to month. We're have never been late. 6 months ago she raised our rent $125 to $1350. Now today she sent a text saying rental rates have gone up and starting next month she is raising it by $600 up to $1950. Nothing is that high in the area. I am a long haul truck driver. Only home 3 days a month. Don't know how I am going to be able to find a place, pack, and move in 3 days. Is this legal?
  • Hello I recently moved in my apartment on 8/15 at that time my air conditioning was not working blows out warm air. I notified the office they sent a technician over the same day. I told him my air doesn't work he TOLD me it does and changed the air filter. Which it did not. I contacted the leasing office again around 8/31. They called me left a message to speak with maintenance. I called back TWICE never got a response. My air did not get fixed until 9/16! And my electric is now shut off because I cannot pay a 850 dollar bill. Should the leasing office accommodate me for these times?

  • In May, I moved into a 12 unit complex in Scottsdale with a pool. The pool was green & the landlord told me it was being emptied, retiled, and filled & would be closed for a couple weeks. I am about to pay August's rent and the pool is still out of commission. It was emptied and two workers came one day to chip away the tiling. Nothing has been done since. What rights do I have as a tenant to start deduct rent or demanding repairs? The pool was a driving force in my renting & it's making a terrible for a terribly frustrating AZ summer. What do I tell my landlord??
  • I have 50/50Joint Custody & 50/50 Legal Decision Making, and my Ex doesn't want my girlfriend or family member picking up my son due to the fact I'm at work when it's my schedule time to pick him up ? Is she legally able to do this or is she in contempt of court?   • My townhouse has water damage from a pipe leak. Landlord sent maintenance guy to fix pipe. 6 days later sent a mold specialist to check for moisture but not mold. Sent maintenance guy back to take out dry wall and pull up carpet. Did not secure room where water damage was to ensure that if there is mold in the wall it was contained did not remove all of the wet areas that the mold specialist recommended. What are my rights? How can I legally make sure that they handle this health and safety issue properly because they are clearly cutting corners and not using certified specialists.

  • I am having a child with a 16 year old (I was 17 when I found out I was pregnant) and I just turned 18 less than a month ago. He has been living with me for 3 to 4 months and his father has made him move to Apache junction with the new girlfriend of his. His father has child abuse charges on him and had his daughter taken away for this. We were wondering if he could move with me and my family. He loves it with us and with his father he gets verbal as well as mental abuse I want to know if there is anything I can do to get him out of there and keep him safe.
