QUESTIONS

  • I was recently applied for an internship toward a career in Network Administration, but was ineligible after a background check. I have a prior conviction from when I was 1995, which I had expunged in 1999. I am unsure of who to contact to get these record sealed so they don't bar me from employment further. I will have wasted years getting a degree in a field I can't get into! Thanks for your time to help and for any assistance you can give me.
  • The garage door in the house I'm renting has been broken since September of last year 2017 and a vast my landlord multiple times to fix it. Every time I bring it up and I am adamant about it he will call me and threaten me. When I tell him that I will fix the garage door and take it off of rent per the Arizona law of Self Help remedy he tells me that unless I live in the garage I have no case. Is this true, does he nit have to fix the garage in a reasonable time frame?

  • We moved into a apartment in February. The ac never worked, electrical problems, landlord never fixed. Plus bug issue. We never signed a lease or contract. We just moved out beginning of May because he refused to repair items in timely manner. He also wanted late fees because I didn't deposit rent into his personal bank account. I always paid in person., But he was out of state, so I got money order and held it till he returned. He demanded late fees. Now he refused to return our deposit. He didn't do a walk through when we vacated either. What can I do. He charged us 1100 deposit.
  • I just received a letter from the management at my apartment complex (07/21/14 which they just taped to my door and not hand delivered or by certified mail as estipulate in the tenants landlord act) letting me know that the lease agreement expires on 08/16/2014 and that they will raise the rent around $150.00. It also states that in cse i want to move I have to give them a 2 month notice but they just informed me about the changes not even a full month in advanced. Is this legal?
  • I have a balloon payment due this November. And I believe my house isn't even worth what I owe at this point. Is someone willing to lend in these cases? Should I be shopping for a fefinance this early? I know we are negative, but we love our house and know it will rebound one day, just need to get through this hard time. Any idea's? Thanks, Tomm

  • I and another coworker have become pregnant, since informing our employer of our current conditions our job responsiblities have changed dramatically, the employer has not treated us with respect and has caused undue stress on us both. Also the employer has denied us time off for doctor's appointments and refuses to work with our current schedules to accommadate our appointments. Where are we covered under the FMLA or are we? We have fewer then 15 employees and we are a non-profit organization.
