QUESTIONS

  • I live in Phoenix & filed our divorce in AZ. My husband is going on medical disability & lives in CA. He is turning his pension into the disability. We have been married 19 years and the judge that I saw at my first hearing wants me to check the pension amount so I receive my correct amount. I have a request for $850.00 in spousal support but I would like to lower it to $450.00 because he is going on disability. I completed the decree with a paralegal. Can I change the decree myself to lower the amount of spousal support before my next default hearing?
  • I reside in NV, but need to modify an existing permanent guardianship order in Phoenix juvenile court. I have permanent guardianship now of my two year granddaughter, won through Judge Norris. The case was ICWA, and the paternal grandmother was awarded eleven weeks visitation, and has not used one day and called three times in two years. The childs father is being released from AZDOC in October and I am frightened that the paternal grandmother will suddenly want visitation. What can I do to modify the order to require transistional visits, supervised visitation?

  • My ex-girlfriend and I obviously separated and have not done any legal custody paperwork with our (she is the mother) two children (ages 3 and 1). The boys constantly stay at the house that I own and never go to their mothers. She only sees them at my house for the 40 hours that I work per week and that is it. Their addresses (including the mother's mail) all come to the house that I own. She has now grown upset and wants to take the children to some long distant relative in Colorado just because she is angry. I do have the 3 year old enrolled in a local Prescott Valley school as well.
