My year long lease expires July 31. I received my lease renewal letter on July 22 (letter dated July 18) advising me that the monthly rental amount will increase by $75 effective August 1! How much notice must be given for such a large (or any) increase and when would the increase go into effect?

If I file a petition to modify child support in March can I change my payments immediately or do I have to wait to hear back from the courts?

My employer has us keep receipts (tickets with the food orders written on them) she is threatening to take $100 for every ticket that gets lost. More than 3 different employees handle these tickets along side the cashier daily. Is this legal for her to take $100 from the cashier if a ticket gets lost?

I am a receipient of a structured settlement...I have no funds left but I won't get another settlment until 2013....my name is on a bank account where my dad is the executor and will nto allow em access norwill tehbak allow me access so I can never use thjsoe funds for food or anythign else...how can I avoid that disallowing me from the food stamp program...I am unemployed and need food.

my husband wants to adopted my oldest son, he has been taking care of him since he was 3 years old. my son biological father pays child support but has not since my son for years now and my son wants nothing to do with him. would my husband be alt to adopted him we have been married for 2 years but have been together for more then 10 years .

my daughter is mother to my grandson. She is an amazing mother. However, due to my grandson's father not committing to sharing parental responsibilities, I have provided an abundance of caregiving when my daughter is not available due to working etc. I absolutely don't mind however, it has financially affected my business and time. May I legally sue my grandson's father for childcare?

I have been receiving extended unemployment benefits due to lay off. I was supposed to receive them for about 7 weeks but have only received 4 payments and then they stopped with no explanation. Who can I contact about this.

A nurse friend of mine thought she was signing up for a BSN program with excelsior college through The College Network(TNC)but was never contacted even though they have taken out monies every month, approx. $600, when she called TNC said she could not withdraw and must pay the full amount. Please help we have no idea what to do next. Thank you for any assistance you can give
