Have been divorced 10.5 years and have sent my 2 kids to a private school. Divorce decree stipulated he would help 50% with tuition which he has not done until 2007-2008 school year. He refused prior years to help. I provided schedule of tuition from 1999-2006. Total amount due to me is $8200. I cannot afford attorney. Can I place lien for unpaid tuition on new home purchased with new wife?

If I'm on SS/Disability and don't get paid until the 3rd of every month can my apartment manager charge me a late fee for paying rent on the third not the first of the month? I had been told by the previous manager that it's illegal for him to do so. Now the new/current manager says that he (previous Mgr) was wrong, misinformed. I need to get a straight answer. The ac went out in our house rental at 1:30am, so I had to get myself and two small children to a hotel. We ended up staying for two nights before the AC was repaired. The landlords said they won't/don't reimburse for the hotel. I'm confused because it says in the Tenant/Landlord act that money can be withheld from rent if substitute house has to be found if the rental is uninhabitable. I have receipts for the hotel and I took the amount off the rent & now the landlords are looking to either late fee or evict me. Can they do that?! I really scared as I have two small kids & no where to go.

My 85 year old mother passed away suddenly on May 25. 2013. She had a lease and a security deposit of $200.00. The apartment complex has suddenly (after 3 months of attempting to get it returned after perfect walk through results) decided that I am not able to get any security deposit. Also, refuse to return my extra monies paid to stay for 14 days to remove my mother's items. I was assured that all of the money would be returned to me but now that they have a new owner, they state that they will not return any of the money that they agreed to return to me. AZ law states that they were to notify me within 14 days if any problems with refund with her security deposit or they have to pay double the amount back. Is this applicable in this case? I have continuously attempted to contact them regarding this issue and I finally got a bunch of passing the blame answers and this is three months late.

I live in an apartment complex. On July 26th, 2014, there was a storm and a tree planted on the premises fell onto my car. The apartment complex removed it two days later. They claim it was an "act of God", and won't cover the repairs for the damages to my vehicle. My question is this: Would this fall under the provisions in the Arizona Residential Landlord and Tenant Act, section 33-1324, Landlord to maintain fit premises?

Orig divorce decree and child support orders were in AZ. I now live in WA state with our child; father remains in AZ. Our child will be 18 next year but will graduate at age 19 from HS. He is deemed disabled. Father and I are in agreement re: extending child support beyond HS through community college and longer, if necessary. We know what to do re: notifying the OCSE that the child will be a full-time student in HS beyond 18. What we don't know how to handle is extending beyond HS. Do we modify existing decree/child support or new petition for this thru Superior Court in Mohave Cty? Thanks.
