QUESTIONS

  • I have been listed as custodial parent for our daughter since our divorce in 2010. At the time of divorce my ex husband wasn't employed but it was listed in the decree that he was to pay 100% for all health insurances including dental and vision and was responsible for 50% of all non covered medical expenses as well. From Jan 2011-March 2018 he failed to pay any of these obligations. We have a court ordered child support in place now but his self employed income hasn't been filed according to his then attorney since 2016. How will the court determine his income?
  • I was involved in a very minor collision resulting in minimal vehicle damage & no bodily harm. Accident occurred on a private parking lot which cops would not respond to so there is no reports or documentation of either parties accounts an recollection leading up to accident. Insurance information was exchanged and both parties drove away upon learning no police report would be taken. Months following were an unstable time for me and incident slipped my mind. Until this week even I received a collection letter which to the best of my knowledge is a subrogation notice. With my brief research on this, it's my understanding that I've been deemed at fault. And the insurer of other party has issued a payment covering their damage. Which they are now seeking reimbursement through me. Can I dispute or appeal an how is this done? I firmly believe that the fault is that of the other driver or at least not solely of my own, based on design and layout of parkway's as well as location of impact and damage indicated on both vehicles.
  • my daughter is 22 tried leaving her abusive boyfriend has 2 kids. when she was leaving he jummped on the car to prevent her from leaving and then called the cops and said she ran him over. she went to jail. and when she got out he will not give her the kids back said he is keeping them and she cant see them the cops will not hep her get them. said he is on the birth certific and they cant help.week prior he beat her up but fled the scene how can we get her kids back he will not let her see them? please help i want to see my grandkids!
  • I have lived with my boyfriend for 2 years. We were evicted from our home for nonpayment and put all of our possessions in storage. We owe a large bill for the storage of our belonings to the moving company. I will be paying the bill and moving into an apartment without my boyfriend. Since I need to take everything out of storage to avoid further bills, can I keep my boyfriend's possessions as well as mine? I don't want to have to pay to store his stuff.
  • My partner and father of my 4 children passed away last friday. We are not married together as married for 18 yrs. Day before he passed he fell from very high up. They sent him to dr got shot sent back to work. Next evening he had heart attack and died. Paramedic said get autopsy think it was internal bleeding. We weren't married but for my children what rights do i have?
  • My mothers health has drastically changed and she only lives on social security, a very small disability bi-weekly stipend and has medicare. While my mother has been accepted for medicaid as a secondary insurance, she will have to contribute monthly of $406 so that she will be able to have full time home health care (vs only part time with medicare). This expense will make it impossible to help her pay her credit card debts off. My mother needs to contribute to medicaid but then won't have enough to pay off her debts. What are options as far as her credit cards? Should I close them (with her on the phone) and let them know that she is unable to pay so we'd need a settlement price? Or just walk away? I am unsure of her options as my original plan was to help her pay them off one by one.
  • I notified my landlord that our AC was out the first week of May via text. He responded via text that he was exploring options. We’re going on 3 months now without air conditioning. Can I withhold rent until he fixes it?
  • When a spouse passes away and has debt in his/her name only, like credit cards, and or contractual obligations for satellite services or cell phone service that charge fee for early termination, etc.- is the remaining spouse responsble for that debt and fulfilling contractual obligation?
  • I agreed to allow my son's father to change his last name. I signed the paperwork a full year ago, but he never processed it. Is there a statute of limitations on the petition I signed? My son was 20 months at the time and has since learned his full given name, so no longer wish to change his name
  • What exactly are landlords required to provide for there tenants Other than smoke detectors
