QUESTIONS

  • Is having a working phone line (I ordered phone service but there are no phone jacks in my house) considered an essential utility?
  • I was born in Sierra Vista, AZ and I now live in NY. I am transgender and need to change the name and gender marker on my birth certificate. How would I go about doing this?

  • In accordance to the Late Fee Fairness Amendment Act of 2016, am I able to pay only the amount due for rent to my apartment's property owner and ignore the late fees until a later time? I have been advised that I cannot be evicted for nonpayment of late fees. My lease agreement states there is no grace period for late fees after the 1st of the month, but isn't that illegal in the state of Arizona? Isn't there supposed to be a 5 day grace period?

I called him on the 15th I didn't have all of the rent. He is now telling me I have 2 days to get out.Does he have to do the eviction process all over again for November's rent?

  • I purchased a couch that we picked up and the box had damage to it which was noted on the invoice. 130 miles round trip. Couch weights 211 pounds. Couch is defective. We wanted them to pick up the couch and bring one that works properly. She said that she will not deliver to Arizona. So either we would like our money back and they come pick up their couch or they bring us the new couch and pick up the defective item how do we stand legally to get them to do this?
