  • My daughter and my 2 grandkids reside in an apartment. This morning about 2 am, water leaked into the electrical system in her building. Causing the power to go out in several units. The landlord said it will be at least a week before it is fixed. What is the landlords duty and responsibilities. To my daughter & grandkids living arrangements. While the electric is out and being repaired
  • The ac went out in our house rental at 1:30am, so I had to get myself and two small children to a hotel. We ended up staying for two nights before the AC was repaired. The landlords said they won't/don't reimburse for the hotel. I'm confused because it says in the Tenant/Landlord act that money can be withheld from rent if substitute house has to be found if the rental is uninhabitable. I have receipts for the hotel and I took the amount off the rent & now the landlords are looking to either late fee or evict me. Can they do that?! I really scared as I have two small kids & no where to go.

  • My townhouse has water damage from a pipe leak. Landlord sent maintenance guy to fix pipe. 6 days later sent a mold specialist to check for moisture but not mold. Sent maintenance guy back to take out dry wall and pull up carpet. Did not secure room where water damage was to ensure that if there is mold in the wall it was contained did not remove all of the wet areas that the mold specialist recommended. What are my rights? How can I legally make sure that they handle this health and safety issue properly because they are clearly cutting corners and not using certified specialists.

  • My son rents in a MHP for three years. He has called about different things like no water outlet outside and dishwasher didn't work, etc they told him they would get it fixed. Still no water hook up outside, I fixed the dishwasher, him and I repaired the stove (which went out Thanksgiving day) the exhaust hood doesn't work. They haven't fixed a thing. The rent has been raised. Now there are adult kids that have tried twice now to break into their Jeep(grabbed his work badge even with an alarm that went off). We aren't the only ones. What can he do. He pays his rent and is quiet unlike others.
