I was adopted at the age of 13 from Russia. My adopted American parents were abusive. At the age of 18 I left home. I have been homeless living with friends as I finished my high school diploma. I have not been able to pay anyone for living at their home. I have started community college full time, two of my classes are not college accredited as I was educationally deprive and have to catch up to take Eng. 101 and college math. I spend more time studying than the average student as English is my second language. I work 8 hours a week at a clothing store. I just started caring for a 90 year old lady, more than 20 hours per week, in exchange for a place to study & sleep. DES says I need to work 20 hours a week to get food stamps. Would my caring of the 90 year old count as working even though I do not get paid?

do i need the permission of both parents to obtain guardianship? what if i cant find one of the parents but the other gives consent?

My grandfather passed away 3years ago. his stepson had a quit claim deed signed with my grandfathers signature the same day he died, my grandfather suffered from alzheimers & dementia. there was no will found. But i'm wondering is there anything that can be done he obviously forged my grandfather's signature to keep his property.

23 years ago in Michigan I cosigned for a Visa card with a 1000 dollar credit limit for my daughter. I just received a letter form the credit union telling me that she has filed for bankruptcy and I am responsible for the 2500 balance. Am I libel for all of it?

My court order has required me to pay for medical insurance for my daughter which I have done. My court order also states that each party is responsibe for one half of all uncovered medical expenses. We currently are in a situation where our medical deductible has not been met therefore a total hospital bill is due in the amount of $2200 for my daughter. My daughter is 21 years old...she lives at Visconti on Camel back apartments. There is a very dangerous stalker who has keyed her car, poisoned her dog with break crumbs, harrassed her and other's. He walks around punching himself in face pointing at her. Cops have been called multiple times. She is scared and wants to break lease..only one month. Visconti says "no"... shouldn't they provide proper security? Somebody was murdered there two months ago also? Please help- I need her to leave.

we are currently listed as owner's to a mortgage but signed transfer of property- deed papers to an investor of whom we have been making monthly payments to. We have been informed by the mortgage that our payments have not been submitted and that we will soon be in foreclosure. What can we do? This investor promised to assume the mortage as well as the property but really only filed tranfer of property and continues to collect our money, of which has been steady each month.
