Hi, I have a few questions. I have a landlord that recently told me the rent was going up by 200 dollars with about a 2 week notice via text message. Is that legal? Also, I had told her I was having an issue with foul odors coming from the hall restroom and requested her send a plumber or her handyman. This problem has been brought up to her previously as well and no action was taken on her part. She actually got upset with me at the request. She then by text again said she should have raised my rent to 1250 if she knew I was going to "complain". We also are having ac problems . Please help

We have moved out of our rental and the move out inspection was done without us being present and they said everything looked fine. We have lived in the residence for 3 years. During this time we chipped the counter which is granite countertops and now the owner is talking about us paying for replacement of a entire new countertop. The chip is about the size of a quarter and our deposit was $900.00. Is this something the owner can do and can they come after me beyond my security deposit?

can my landlord keep me from moving my travel trailer because I owe two months rent? we had agreed in October I would pay October and November rent in mid November when my student grants came in, they will be here next week, but my son only has this weekend to move my trailer for me. My landlord says I cannot legally move it, although he does not have a lien on it and I own it free and clear.

I lived in apartment for 2yrs. Carpet was new. Contract was up 11/30/18 and completed the walk-through on 11/28. At the walk-through we were told that everything was fine except a stain on the countertop which we were told that we would probably have to pay for. Two weeks later I get a letter that I have to pay to replace the carpet because it's worn more than the 36 month life limit. I have pictures of the carpet and it is not worn nor dirty.

Hello, I don't know if this is the right category. I was supposed to move into an apartment May 2020 but due yo COVID-19 I'm cancelling my scheduled move in for safety purposes and other obvious reasons. I already paid application and admin fees while applying for the apartment. The apartment is saying I won't be able to get my administration fee back because I'm cancelling. Is this possible and what can I do? Thanks

My tenant lied about having a puppy. My home is a no pets home. She moved the dog in when she moved it. When we found about the dog we gave her a 10 day notice letter that she had no idea was coming. Within 18 hours she went on a website and got a letter saying that the puppy is now an emotional support dog and if we try to evict her she will sue us under Federal Housing Act. What are my protections? Add said no pets, applications said no pets, lease says no pets and she lied. Also advertised in local neighborhood website for a pet sitter. So, it wasn't an emotional support dog then
