We have been renting our current property for 3 yrs. It changed owners after the first yr. We live in a 3 bedroom our first yr lease had us paying 750 a month rent. When the new owners renewed the following yr they raised the rent to 800 a month. Upon our third renewal and 2nd yr with new owners they raised the rent to 850 a month. This will be our 4th renewal 3rd lease with new owners and they have offered lease renewal for 1851 a month. This is a 1000 dollar increase monthly. Not only does it appear unethical, it seems illegal. Is this illegal? Fmr for this area is about 1360.

My Landlord has been providing poor maintenance that "fixes" the problem. Our a/c has been leaking into the hallway and under the sink where the drain connection is. Because of the poor maintenance and the well-being of my family I pipe snaked the drain and provided proper fittings for the drain a total of 1.5hrs of maintenance. I notified the landlord and asked for a reduction in next months rent for labor and materials, am I within my legal right to do so?

I am renting to own my manufactured home from my landlord who is in turn paying off loan company. The contract she wrote and we both signed but was never notarized or witnessed states that I will rent the home" as is" meaning she is not responsible for any damages. The septic tank is broken and flooding badly enough that one side of the house has sunken into the ground. The clogging from the septic has caused leaks and clogs in water pipes causing mold in walls and insulation under house ruined. A lic. Plumber informed me that the septic tank got broken when she installed it previous to my renting. It is also illegally placed too close to house. Also, my mother paid my rent in February and when I asked my landlord if she received this money she stated no. I called my mother to confirm she did go there then I called landlord back and told her I knew she was lying about it and she admitted that she had in fact lied about how much rent I actually owe her. What can I do about all of this?

I have a daughter with someone who has chosen drugs over her, there's been times where he did come to my house to visit her but during the visitation I realized he was still using even though he claimed he had been sober for the 2 months that my daughter had been born. Ever since then, he never really tried to get in touch with me to see her and she's now going to be a year old and I want to sever his rights. How would I go about doing this?

I recently was Evicted from my apartment and locked out by the constable. Unfortunately I was unable to remove all of my belonging and was told I need to return make arrangements with the landlord to get the rest of my things. When I returned i was told that someone must have stolen my things. What do I do? I made a police report, But the property management told me they will not replace any of my things . Can anyone tell me what rights I have and what I should do thank you any help is much appreciated .

MY LANDLORD OFFERED ME ANOTHER UNIT BECAUSE HE SAID IT HAD MORE SPACE ME NOT KNOWING I SIGNED A LEASE FOR ANOTHER 8 MONTHS AND I WANT TO MOVE IN APRIL PRIOR TO THAT LEASE I SIGNED ON IN APRIL WHEN I FIRST MOVED IN FOR THE SMALLER UNIT IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN A YEAR DO I HAVE TO LIVE OUT THE LEASE AGREEMENT FOR THE UNIT HE OFFERED TO ME FOR ANOTHER 6 MONTHS

I am having a situation similar to what you describe regarding my old landlord withholding my deposit, and not contacting me at all after our walk through, when i had verbally requested an itemized list of deductions. it has been 20 business days and he has not contacted me.
