QUESTIONS

  • I am 27. I owe about 18,00 in child support right now. Ive been able to make payments here and there but only $50 at a time. I have an arrears hearing coming up on sept. 3rd. This will be the first hearing. Just in the last few days I was able to gain employment for a department store. Im going to have them garnish my wages or I will be making the appropriate payment. I have honestly just had trouble finding work. Do I need to be concerned about going to jail at this hearing? and can I request a modification of support at this hearing?
  • This is a plea for my best friend. She is desperate need of legal help. She has shared custody of her 7 year old daughter with the father of the daughter and his wife. Her ex and his wife have harassed her, have bullied her by coming to her work and causing a scene, that resulted in the police getting called. They have given consent for the daughter to have surgery without the consent of my friend (the girls mom) or even telling her that she was going to have surgery. My friend found out after the surgery was done and the girls face was swollen and purple.
  • I am my mother's caregiver. She is 87 years old and requires me to be home 24/7. I cannot get a job because of this situation. Is there compensation for me as a caregiver through her health benefit plan, medicare or some other avenue. I am glad to be her caregiver but it has put a strain on us financially. Thank you.
  • I am a property manager. I moved some tenants into a rental house that was a bank-owned ( as is) property. There are scorpions. Can the tenant break the lease because of this? I have sent out exterminators but the scopions live on! Of course we did not see any when looking at the property. Thanks.
  • How do I get a court date to see my mom? My sister won't let me see mom unless it's court ordered. She doesn't have any rights over mom but she has a restraining order against me based on a lie. I haven't done anything wrong or to her. She's the one using and abusing mom, not me.
