QUESTIONS

  • In Sept 2017 I signed a lease with XXXXX apt. Rent was behind 2 months. Never received an eviction notice, but my locks did get changed, and always in contact with Leasing Manager. I showed up with rent for both months, and she said, no I am not going to rent I am going to evict you. So, I left came back for my stuff, and Feb 2018 I get a bill for $18k that I need to pay for the 12 months. Is that legal?
  • I was arrested in August for marijuana possession. I was with a group and we were detained while the officer questioned us. We were not read our rights and I told the officer the joint was mine to eliminate my friend from getting into trouble. I was taken to the police station and was held for a few hours but they never read me my rights. I was then realeased to go home. I have since moved back to California and am trying to find out what is going to happen. There is no case filed and the court told me not to worry about it but the police said they have a year to file. What can I do?
  • I request that the light outside my apartment be repaired on January 11, 2019, then again on March 11, 2019, and again today March 15, 2019. According to my lease all light fixtures inside my apartment and in common areas will be repaired by the leasing agency. Currently, there are no lights at near the stairwell, my apartment is at the top of, to provide safe lighting. I keep getting the "we need to order fixtures" as the reason that it is taking so long to repair this item. What course of action can I take to either fix the lights or be released from my lease?
  • I want to hyphenate my daughter's last name.She currently has her biological father's last name,who has nothing to do with her.I have remarried and want to give her mine and my husband's last name,who is the only father she knows.Can I do that? And since I am not removing my ex's last name,do I still need his consent?
  • My friend is abused by her mother. She needs help she does not kown what to do there have been multiple times where other had contacted the police and nothing happend. She is 16 and she is thinking about killing her self. She needs help what she/i do. She wants to live with my family and I is that any possibly of happening. The freind email is not her.   • My wife and I rented a home in Sun City Arizona, a few months in, what they thought was a windshear tore off the Arizona room ceiling and threw it on top of the house. We call the owner immediately and let him know and he said he would take care of it, we also let him know we had our furniture in the Arizona room And would be covering it so that there would be no damage. Unfortunately, it was very hard and we did have rain, our high top bar set and tile top table and patio couch and chairs were ruined because of the heat. The landlord took almost 3 months to finally get someone to replace the ceiling.
