QUESTIONS

  • I’ve been renting my condo for a year and a half. For the past 8 months we have experienced flooding issues when it rains. My landlord replaced the carpet but since it keeps flooding and now it smells awful like mold. I want them to bring in professionals as I have two children under 5 living in that room specifically that keeps flooding. They keep putting it off and the smell is unbearable. I’ve seen mold growing on the window but I believe this is under the carpet or in the walls. What can I do!? My lease isn’t up for another 6 months.
  • If I move out of the house (after 50 years of marriage) this will not be considered 'abandonment' or 'possession is 9/10th of the law' as my husband tells me will it once I file for divorce?
  • I share custody with my girls father but he has some a week ago he told my 15 year old she had to leave and she been with me ever sense what's my next step to keep her with me
  • After a tenant has been escorted out of the mobile home by the Constable, are the landlords allowed to remove the property left by the tenant?
  • My house was foreclosed on me without my knowledge. On January 4th a lawyers office put a package with my options to continue renting or to relocate. But I never received a letter or option to short sale, apply for HAMP, or notice of the sale. They obviously have my address, but no notice or options. Where can I find a way to get my house back? I found something online about the "right of redemption" and I'm completely upset and confused as to why I wasn't given any option or notification of sale. Please help. Any resources on "right of redemption" or a legal way to get them to stop?
  • I just recently moved from California and can’t see to find info on these admin and late fees. I paid a $265 admin fee during application process. After I moved in something went through causing that payment to bounce back. I received a 5 day notice to pay that says my “rent” is late and also assessed a $10 day late fee. 1. Can I be evicted over an admin fee. 2. Is this form correct in stating its “rent” 3. Are these late fees legal and can they evict me over them 4. Can I be evicted over a reversed admin fee?
  • I was injured on the job 4-4-14 and reinjured 8-7-14. I returned to work on restricted duty 9-21-14 and was fired 10-24-14. Can they do this?
  • how long do we have after told about foreclosure to move out?
  • My girlfriend and I allowed her brother (a 300lb man) to crash with us after he got evicted. After about 2 1/2 weeks we realized this was a terrible idea and told him he needed to leave. He packed most of his things and left but took some things that didn't belong to him. Upon him returning for the last if his stuff, we told him he was not allowed to enter the premises and we would bring him his stuff. He got mad and tried to force his way into the house and my girlfriend fought him off. She got arrested for"hitting" him. Isn't this still a form of self defense considering he doesn't live here
  • My husband and I are going through a very civil divorce. We have no kids and want to be officially divorced as soon as possible so he is able to purchase a house without my liabilities. Once we turn in the paperwork, how long will it take for it to be processed?
