  • I am currently renting a room in a person's house. Due to a leak in the plumbing they are replacing all of the flooring on the floor that I live in, including in the room that I rent. I have to vacate my room for 2-3 days while they refloor the room. She says that she only has to reimburse me the "daily cost" of my room rental for the days I have to be out of my room. Do they have to provide adequate housing for me while I am being forced out of my room. She says I can sleep on an air mattress. Would my renters insurance cover this?
  • My downstairs rental had water damage caused by the upstairs empty rental where the water was not turned off. Parts of the ceiling and walls had to be removed and a restoration team had to dry the wall. Being a home worker and this a very small place, I found a temporary rental. This happened mid-month, I was out for 2 weeks and now I am being asked to pay full rent on the first under the reason that I choose to be out.   • My lease is coming up for renewal at a complex that recently changed ownership. My neighbor is currently reviewing the new lease and trying to decide to stay or leave. The lease has an addendum saying that Tenants will be chaged CAM fees for ALL common area maintenance and repairs and all expenses to operate the property. They will determine the amount of each tenant's share by dividing the entire cost of CAMs divided by the number of units leased (not the number of units within the complex). They will not provide an estimate to "not to exceed amount". Can they do this? Big repairs comin
