I was arrested on a criminal charge. I was read Miranda and I asked for an attorney. At 11am the next day, I was taken before a judge. She read the charges and set bail. Then I was taken to another holding cell that had phones. Two questions: 1)What's the name of that hearing? 2)Why did I not have an attorney present, or at least someone to explain what was happening? I watch the news and see the same courtroom with attorney's representing the accused.

We've been renting our house for 5 years and our AC/Heat bills have always been high. We just found out that the garage that our landlord converted into a bedroom has no insulation. Does this room legally need to be insulated? And if so, is he responsible to refund us a portion for the unusually high bills?

I wish to sell my mobile home located in a MH Park. The Owner of the park told me I have to sell it to him under the "Right of First Refusal" Law. I do not want to sell it to him, as he will use it as a rental. He is using this ROFR for personal gains. I have a buyer already. Does he have the right to force me to sell it to him under this ROFR? He has this written in current Rules and Regulations for tenants. He has already obtained two MH’s from owners by using this statement, and is now renting them out. Is this legal?

I'm asking this question for my son who is renting a studio apartment. The apartment is infested with roaches which are coming from an a joining unit and now mice. It is a very unhealthy place which the landlord has not fixed the problem. The other tenant has been evicted the the unit has not been emptied and the insects are taking over my sons place making it a health hazard. Any advice as to how to get the landlord to exterminate the apartment? Thank you.

Hello. I am finally attempting to get a divorce from my husband. I am from WA State and fled to get away from him and his family who were threatening my children and I. We have one small child together. When he was a child his mom changed his last name, not legally from his birth name to her maiden name. And we were married with her maiden name, not the name on his birth certificate. My question is does this make our marriage legal?

I had a security deposit of $400 at my apartment and I still haven't received the security deposit. It's been about a month and a half. Everytime I call they avoid helping me and have stopped responding to my emails. I dont know if its because they find it annoying or they just dont have the deposit. What are legal ways I can pursue my security deposit. I have also sent them a demand letter. What is the reasonable time to sue and what is the maximum I can sue for?
