I informed my landlord that there were several things that needed to be fixed (the dishwasher and the toilet) She never responded to my requests. I waited several days. I then informed her that I would have these items fixed and that I would provide her with receipts of the work done and deduct it from my rent. Again, she did not respond. Now she is seeking late fees for the amount that I deducted from my rent. In addition, the roof has leaked for the last year and after numerous requests has not been fixed to my knowledge. Can she do this and can I break m y Lease?

My father died in March & mother in June. We have found that dad had some life insurance through USPO with no beneficiary designated. They want to pay to my mom's estate but there is no estate. She had assets under $10,000 and no real property. I found the small estate affidavit. There are three surviving children, 1 deceased with 2 children. I assume we all need to fill out an affidavit? One of the grandchildren is still a minor. Who fills out his?

i was looking up a justice court criminal case on the Arizonas judicial branch website, which is related to a legal situation that that I am involved in at the present time. I noticed that in the disposition section of the case it states 'comp dismissed by cty atty'. The reason that I ask my question is I thought that only a judge can dismiss a case, in a justice court. I would appreciate it if someone could give me as much information concerning my question as possible. My question is can a county attorney dismiss a criminal case, which is in a local justice court?

I gave birth to my son in late April this year. His father was not there for his birth and has never met him. He had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was just recently arrested. How do I get a DNA test to provide legal documentation that he is in fact the father of my child? Where do I start? Furthermore/Also, then what can I do next to try and obtain child support? Can anyone even receive child support from a person who is incarcerated? He is on social security by the way...so? Please Help!

My boyfriend and I are leasing a new house. We had paid a pro-rated amount of rent for the end of June. The swamp cooler in the house had a broken pump and a handyman repaired the cooler on July 2nd. Seeing as how the house was uninhabitable during that time, we would like to get our pro-rated rent money back. What are our rights in this situation and what is the responsibility of the landlord?
