I have two grandsons, 3yrs. old and 6yrs old. I am the maternal grandmother with the 6yr. old in my care and pending an adoption. when a commisioner signes a court order with /s/ instead of a real signature, is this still a legal signature. I was reading that if a judge wasn't to sign a court order that it mean other things - this is why I ask.

I have a 16 year old daughter who lived with her father and step mother in Arizona while I was recuperating from a heart attack. (I voluntarily gave him temporary custody, and live in a separate state). During the time my daughter lived with them, she was placed on probation. All of the court papers were signed by her step mother, are these documents legal? Does a step parent have the legal right to sign legal papers as a parent or guardian, without being granted guardianship of the child?

My sister recently moved to AZ and left her children at my house & didn't tell me she was moving. She left me with no guardianship, power of attorney or ANYTHING that will give me authority to take these kids to get medical attention god forbid something happens. They've been living with me for 10 months. How can I apply for legal custody/guardianship? 4 kids and no help from the parents. I have 4 of my own. What do I do?
