  • I returned part of my tenants deposit because their dog wet on the carpet. We took pics and the carpet person said it was pet urine. My question is how long do I have to give the tenant to cash the check before I can stop payment? It has been over a month since they received it.
  • I had to renew my foodstamps in October... because I forgot and didn't receive any so in November I started back receiving.... now I'm wondering do I receive them for this month or do I have to renew them again.   • I had a family court case transferred from New Mexico to Arizona a couple months ago. I had a hearing in AZ on 10/30. They required me to send my ex husband (in NM) a letter stating that there was a hearing set. He went back to the NM court the day before our hearing was set and he had a trial set in NM. I need to know what I need to do since the case has been transferred to AZ for months and we have a mediation date and another trial date set.
  • My mother rented a place on a month to month basis, signed a lease, paid a $600 deposit, and was asked to give a 30 day notice when she planned to move out. She moved in 11/1/2017. On 11/14 she went to the ER and was admitted to the hospital because we found out she had a spinal cord tumor. On 11/20 she transferred to inpatient Hospice and died there on 11/22. Her things were moved out and the place was immaculately cleaned on 11/26. Her landlady knew she wouldn't be returning as early as 11/18. Is she obligated to return the full $600 deposit even though a 30 day notice wasn't given?

  • I am currently renting a home in Tucson that has a Swamp Cooler. The swamp cooler has not been keeping the house cool. The temperature reaches between 88-91 degrees inside even with many fans throughout house. The landlord has failed to offer any way of cooling down the house. If we want an AC unit in the windows we must pay for it. He has neglected to fix things because we pay "cheap rent for the neighborhood we're in." Is the landlord legally responsible for providing livable conditions such as accurate cooling?
