Question: I would like to change the name of my daughter and remove my ex's last name. I also want full custody of my daughter. Is there legal aid that isn't costly.

You can find the legal aid organizations on our website by clicking on "Organizations" on the top portion of the page. Also, in our Things you Should Know about Custody article, you will find a box titled "Legal Help" on the bottom right portion of the page. Use the drop down menu to click on your county to find the legal aid groups that cover family law in your county.
Also, many of the courts have self service centers. You can go to the websites or the court to get the proper forms to change custody status or to start the name change process. Both Maricopa County and Pima County have helpful websites that may give you additional information.
