QUESTIONS

  • I recently filed to relocate myself and my son to California. After his father and I could not agree on the move, the case was given to the judge for decision and it was declined. According to our parenting plan, neither parent is allowed to take the child out of state for vacation. My mom, whom has helped me raise my son since age 1, is wanting him to visit but without his dad's approval he is not able to go. Would my mom be able to file for grand parent's rights? And would this allow for him to be able to travel to California for vacation? All advice appreciated.
  • My Ex decided that I could have our two boys for the school year. As for the clild support she was to be giving me the whole amount back, but she seems to have an excusse every week. Now she wants to take them home back to AZ in December (we are in Sacramento)and have them go to school there. what can i do, when none of this is through the court system. The boys have come along way since they have been here.
  • My Divorce Decree was supposed to be filed on August 16th 2013 and I don't see the electronic online file minutes. Where can I find out if they were filed properly and ontime?
  • I have a parental relationship with a 21 year old who's mother is deceased. We would like it if I could adopt him legally to solidify the family relationship, my children, this person and myself have discussed it in depth. Is this a possibility in Arizona?
  • Over the past few months my apartment has been having serious plumbing issues. I have sewage coming up into my tub and when it is really backed up I cannot even flush the toilet. I am also unable to use my washer or shower due to the backup. My landlord who rents two apartments is taking his time handling the problem and refuses to use professionals to make the repairs and refuses to rent us a hotel. I read that the next step is to call the health department. Would that only make the problem worse. Is my landlord able to evict me in retaliation. My lease is good up to January.
  • can i get compensated by the government for being my moms sole live in caregiver
  • I live with my boyfriend we are not married and he has no intention of getting married. He intends on being involved in our, as he calls it “illegitimate child’s birth” and I would prefer to use my last name for our child. He disagrees and wants to use his last name. I have a child from a previous marriage and I find it difficult with us having different last names over the years with insurance and doctors appointments, just frustrating. Do I have to use our child’s father’s last name for this child?
  • My new apt. has many old water leaks I only discovered when it rained, and a large patch of black mold that's not responding to me spraying mold and mildew cleaner on it growing on the outside exterior of my living room wall in a closet. During the last storm, I had water trickling down the drywall and across the ceiling in my bedroom and one can see it's not a new leak and has been repaired before. Maintenance says they can only cosmetically scrape and paint it. I can't live here even if its remedied because it's extensive and I'm very sensitive to mold already. What do I do?
  • My son's dad and I have joint legal and physical custody. The order has been in place since 2006 (my son was 5 years old at the time). He is now 14 and indicating that he wants to live with his dad. However, his dad doesn't have him the time allotted due to his work schedule. He's only able to take him to school two days per month. We live close to each other and to his school. The plan has worked well for the 10 1/2 years. I think he just doesn't like my rules. How will the courts look at this as far as allowing my son to decide.
  • One of my creditors has chosen to sue me to collect a debt. Supposedly a judgement was issued against me, but the paperwork was so confusing, I could not understand it. I do not own a home or a car and my only income is Social Security. The letter from the agency selected by the credit card company says there are various means they can use to collect. My question is, what CAN they do to me? A call to the agency got me nowhere. I am also the sole caregiver for my handicapped mother.
