Questions & Answers

Question: do u have to live in AZ a certain length of time to collect food stamps?

Answer: The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) establishes eligibility requirements for the Nutrition Assistance program. Eligibility is based on the household’s resources, income and other requirements such as residence, citizenship or qualified non-citizen status, and cooperation with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Employment & Training program. If an individual is unsure of whether or not he or she qualifies, the Arizona Department of Economic Security recommends that the individual still apply here. The Do I Qualify page for Nutrition Assistance is located at the following link.  At the link, an individual is given a short summary regarding the requirements as well as the process of applying and receiving Nutrition Assistance.
