My ex wife has not let me see our daughter in almost a year. We share joint custody. I have called and texted at least 2x a week with no response this whole time. My husband and I rented a very small 3 bed room house. Very basic but perfect for us. We’ve had some health issues so our adult grandson has been living with us for about a month. I contacted the owner. He’s raised our rent to 1100 a month. Homes for rent in this area are renting for 800.00 a month. This home was built in the early 70s and is very small under 1000 sq foot. Newer nicer homes are renting for 1100 a month. Much nicer and updated homes. We have never been late on rent and he has raised our rent every year but homes in this older but nice neighborhood are not near worth 1100 ???

3 days ago I signed a year long lease. Now, 3 days after singing, the rent price has dropped substantially due to Covid19. I am also being cut back on hours drastically at work. I am wondering if i have any rights for them to honor the current rent price or if I have any rights due to extreme financial crisis. Since I can’t work, I can’t get paid or pay my rent. My lease has a statement of Force Majeure but it seems that’s only beneficial for the landlord. Any options as to how I legally not be in trouble for missed payments or termination of lease?

I live in a apartment complex. My brother has informed the maintence via voicemail previously that there was something leaking in the bathroom. This was about April. They have not done anything or put an effort to fix the mold- that was caused, I'm assuming, due to the leak spreading on the floor. It is now black and the walls have softened. It's now August what can I do to break my lease?
