  • How can I get help ? I have a neighboring tentant and they keep harrasing me. I don't know them or know their names. I've reported complaints to manager about them throwing large amounts of cigarettes at my door- even leaving them burning at my door step. There is a  10 day notice that has passed and they continue the harrassment..

  • We notified landlord we are terminating our lease that is effective through September 08. We actually vacated the house June 11. We asked landlord to find another tenant that could move in before out lease is up so we can get out of our lease early. Landlord said they were looking for new tenant but then said they wanted their friends to move in Jan. 09. They are playing with our money now by not looking for a new tenant. Can they do that?
  • I moved into a new upstairs apartment unit in May 2011. It is now June 2011. Everything is great, except I have downstairs neighbors who play loud music from 1 am-5 am. The music is soft enough, but the bass is extremely loud. It vibrates our beds, floors and walls. We have spoken with the manager, who says that she can do nothing. The police have come, (twice), and are sympathetic but because it seems to affect only me (the vibration is in the bedroom below me), they don't know what else to do. Can I break my lease? When planning my move I had submitted a request to forward my mail with an effective date of June 1st because I wasn't anticipating moving early but that's the way the movers worked out. I asked my old complex if they would allow me to get my mail from my box since I have turned in my keys to them already and they said no. I also asked if they would get the mail and just allow me to pick it up and they said no to that too. Are they allowed to withhold my access to my mail?

  • We live in Louisiana and in the recent past I had three headaches that were really bad. The third one was so horrific I thought I was having a stroke. I found out that after our neighbors moved a major effort was made to rid the apartment of insects. I also found out that the exterminating company was rotating insecticides. My fear is that we were affected by what was used. Both my blood pressure and my sons went really high. I have highblood issues but my diastolic went much higher then usual. Do I have a right to know what was used in that apartment?
