My daughter was trying on clothes at Sears with a friend of hers. They were in separate booths and after they left they were stopped by a security guard who found several items of clothing in her friends bag. My daughter did not have a purse or a bag on her. The police were called, but the video clearly showed that they were using separate dressing rooms. The police declined to file charges against my daughter although charges have been filed against the friend. We just received a letter from a law firm representing Sears demanding payment in the amount of $168.00. Can they legally bill us?

As a landlord, we only have a verbal lease agreement with our tenants. We are taking them to court for eviction for not paying rent. Our "plaintiff's checklist" lists a copy of the lease, which we don't have. Will our verbal lease agreement be an issue?

If my boyfriend and I were staying with my mom and he left out of town for 4 months and we broke up because of this, and now he's back and saying if I don't allow him in my mothers house he will call the cops, he is saying I stole his stuff and he has the rights to check. I made a huge mistake by cosigning on a car loan for a girlfriend back on 09/15/08. She only made 9 payments on the vehicle then let it go back to the bank. It’s been almost 6-1/2 years since she made her last payment and now they’re coming after me, after all these years have gone by. I was told that Arizona Statute of Limitations A.R.S. § 47-2725 is four (4) years for auto loans. But their attorney is ignoring that and coming after me regardless. It's now October 2015 and they are coming after me for the loan amount + interest totaling $13,000 altogether. I'm retired and living solely on Social Security of $1,776 per month and two small pensions totaling $624 which = $2,400 per month. And I'm living with my daughter to make ends meet. Therefore I can't afford to pay theses people. I had an initial pre-trial conference on 10/8/15 and represented myself because I can’t afford an attorney. It was determined that there will be a trial on 12/14/15. I told the loan company in court “that I have no money and living on $2,400 per month and living with my daughter to make ends meet, and they’re still pursuing the trial date. My questions are: 1) Will the Arizona Statute of Limitations A.R.S. § 47-2725 four (4) years get me out of this mess completely? 2) I've been told and read online that Social Security income and Pensions “cannot be garnished”. Do you know if this is true? If it's true then I have nothing to worry about and won't need to file bankruptcy. 3) If I lose my case can I file bankruptcy on a judgement that's been awarded against me? 4) Can they levy / garnish my checking account where my Social Security checks and Pension checks are electronically deposited? My apartment is having a cockroach problem. The people have sprayed buy they still aren't going away. Can I do anything since they have actually been trying? Or am I able to take action since the problem still persists?

i was renting a duplex privately owned with my b/f of 9 years. we had an argument,it got violent on his end and the neighbors. i left. he asked me to come back aug 1st 2015. the neighbor got violent i left. at that time they took the fence/gate key away but not my house keys. and I had paid rent for july but was not on the mo to mo lease.they then stole my Aug rent from me by entering my vehicle without my ok. i have been trying to get my stuff out. but they will not let me. i have gotten my clothes. coats. but my furn, jewelry etc. is still there..what are my rights? as im scared.

Do you have to show up to court? I'm not disputing the eviction. I just want to know how many days I have to move and the papers are not 100% clear. The court is further than I thought and would rather not waste the money in gas to go if it's really not necessary.

I was arrested at 19 with a pound of marijuana and charged with 4 felony counts of possession. One charge was for the marijuana, one for a medicinal bottle,one for a bong and one for another medicine bottle with a small amount from the pound in it. After going to court my case was dismissed without prejudice and i payed a $1000 fine to the court as well as completing a small course booklet sent to me at home. I am now 21 and determined to enlist in the Army so I am trying to have my case completely dismissed or expunged from my record.I am not sure which I should try for or the process on how?
