QUESTIONS

  • My mother recently passed away with no will and no power of attorney. She had a checking account that has me as a signatory. It was all her money and I've paid her funeral expenses, etc. from it. Can I use the money that is left for my own purposes?
  • My girlfriend in highschool got pregnant not sure if it mine or not, she took of and the kid is almost , she's now ordering a paternity and child support. Is there anything I can do? I feel she is only doing this now that she has found out from and old friend in highschool that I'm not happy and have kid another kid
  • Can an emancipated minor go through juvenile dependency proceedings?
  • My mothers health has drastically changed and she only lives on social security, a very small disability bi-weekly stipend and has medicare. While my mother has been accepted for medicaid as a secondary insurance, she will have to contribute monthly of $406 so that she will be able to have full time home health care (vs only part time with medicare). This expense will make it impossible to help her pay her credit card debts off. My mother needs to contribute to medicaid but then won't have enough to pay off her debts. What are options as far as her credit cards? Should I close them (with her on the phone) and let them know that she is unable to pay so we'd need a settlement price? Or just walk away? I am unsure of her options as my original plan was to help her pay them off one by one.
  • My landlord has been retaliating on me because I filed a complaint with the city for them failing to remedy a bed bug issue. Now they are refusing to make repairs, harassing me at all hours of the day and night and threatening to evict me with unjustified causes. Additionally, my lease is up in 3 months and they are planning on showing my unit for the next THREE months which is excessive and highly invasive. What can I do to prevent all of this?
  • My husband currently lives with me, and our 2 daughters. He has barely been paying anything toward bills and rent and recently there have been some domestic violence issues also. Can I file for child support even though he is currently living in my home?
  • i am currently pregnant by a man who is married, who denies that the child is his. he now lives in the state of california. He will not be present at the hospital to sign acknowledgement of paternity. what is the proper steps I need to take to prove he is the father? Is there anything I can do about him being legally marrried and getting another woman pregnant?
  • I live in a rental home. The A/C went out, the owner was notified, as well as management company, it's been 6 days and still not fixed. I went and purchased on day 2, 3 fans and a portable A/C unit, I have lost alot of fruits, pantry items too! The heat has also caused my laptop to stop working and it's so hot in the house to cook, we have been purchasing fast food, can I legally demand reimbursement for these things from the owner ?
  • We discovered we had a rat in our apartment, that same day we reported it to the office and they scheduled for an exterminator to set traps two days later. The next day we started seeing ticks around the apartment, we have one dog and started him on Nexguard tick preventative right away. The apartments are stating that they do not cover for tick exterminator because the ticks couldn't have traveled via the rat. Who is responsible for tick extermination?
  • I’m a teacher at a charter school. My school is trying to force me to teach in person. With COVID-19 raging in AZ I don’t feel it’s safe. If I’m fired for refusing to teach in person can I collect unemployment or even sue the school for putting my life in danger?
