QUESTIONS

  • Recently, my husband and i agreed to take in my niece and my great-niece. No my niece is being threatened by the baby's fathers mother for visitation rights. she claims my niece is holding the baby who is eight months old, hostage from her. This woman has never made a single attempt to come visit the child where she now lives. she refuses to accept my nieces offers of visits as long as my niece is there. She wants the baby and I'm afraid she will stop at nothing to take her away from my niece who hasn't done anything wrong.
  • I am a porsche mechanic and have been on hourly rate (my first yr) now i am forced to go on flat rate; however the dearlership cannot guarantee 40 hours of work during the winter months, am i eligible for Underemployment?
  • What are the laws to have normal wear n tear fixed. How often?
  • I got married in Morocco, got my husband to U S we have been married for 3 years. One day, he decided to leave and two weeks later, I found out he was filing divorce for domestic violence, I confronted him and he said it was the only way to get his legal status. I hired an attorney and got divorced but not for domestic violence, it was for irreconsiliable marriage. Can he still get a chance to get his green card?
  • I am a dentist, the company I work for has closed vdown temporarily a minimum of 3 weeks likely longer.Am I eligible for unemployment
  • I applied for veteran's court here in Anoka County, MN. I was sentenced at traditional court with 120 days forthwith and then a staggered sentence totalling 365 days. As part of my sentence I am now required to complete veteran's treatment after my release from incarceration. When I applied for veteran's court I was under the impression that it was in lieu of incarceration. Also I was not offered a stay of adjudication, only a stay of imposition. There seems to be no incentive for vet's court for me other than I have to do it or get a probation violation. Is that legal?
  • A few days before I turned 18, my adopted family of 4 years kicked me out and dropped me off at my birth mothers house. (Who is not capable of taking care of me) they didn't even give me a quarter of my belongings and I also didn't receive any of my documents (I.e birth certificate, social security card, etc) this has caused me many problems in the year since dealing with trying to get a car, registering for college and other things. In order to get new documents, I need to have other documents and I have none. Is there something I can legally do?
  • I had a question in relation to access notices. A lot of landlords are currently only responding to emergency maintenance calls to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and limiting person to person contact right now. With that being said, if a landlord serves a tenant an access notice stating that they need to enter their dwelling for a pest control inspection, can that tenant deny entry if they have concerns of others being in the home at this time, or does the landlord still have full access rights as long as they provide notice 48 hours or more in advance?
  • what if I don't agree the temporary orders from a judge? How can I get a different judge if I feel the judge I have is being biased
  • I have submitted notice on 7/28/17 that we would be non-renewing our lease and it would end, as stated in our lease, on 9/12/17. This provided excess of 30 days notice as required. They did not respond until today, 8/7/17. When we moved in, our rent for Sept '16 (9/13 - 9/30) was prorated. In our notice, I stated we would be paying the pro-rated amount of our rent due on 9/1 for the 12 days we will be occupying the apartment. The management let us know that our lease will end on 9/12, but we are responsible for the entire month of Sept. rent. I am unsure. I have communicated with them by e-mail because I wanted to document it.
