  • I have been renting this house for the past 18 months. April 25th a man showed up at the door and said that he is the owner of the house and said that my family and I have 10 days to vacate the house. He had a piece of paper with some other name on it and a different address. He crossed out that name and address and put my name and address. He said that if I can be out in 10 days he would pay $300 for the rental truck. I called the landlord and she said that is the owner and yes he plans on fixing up the house and selling it. I don't know what to do. My daughter and her two special needs

  • My daughter is turning 18 but won’t graduate high school till she’s 19. She has been alienated from me and refuses to spend any time with me. Stays with her mother. Can I emancipate her when she turns 18 and stop child support without waiting till she’s 29 and graduated high school.

Now I have to take medication daily to keep the headaches under control. I notified my leasing office and they are not willing to do anything about it. Is there anything I can do? There is nothing in the lease agreement about that.

  • My boyfriend and I are leasing a new house. We had paid a pro-rated amount of rent for the end of June. The swamp cooler in the house had a broken pump and a handyman repaired the cooler on July 2nd. Seeing as how the house was uninhabitable during that time, we would like to get our pro-rated rent money back. What are our rights in this situation and what is the responsibility of the landlord?

My toilet has been leaking. What can I do?
