I was recently laid off work as a biomedical technican, allegedly for "reduction in force" needs. I suspect that my selection for dismissal was primarily based on my age (44yo), as a recently highed 22yo female technician was retained despite having almost no experience and still being trained. I can't afford high lawyer consult fees so what can I do to determine if I have a valid claim?

I'm at the end of a two year lease. The landlord has a 20% rent increase if we don't do a new lease. Does he need to send us a written notice 30 days in advance that he intends to increase our rent 20% and the total amount that would make our new rent payment be? So far he has excepted the regular payment for two months passed the lease end date and now we just gave about a 50 day notice that we intend to move out.

Two weeks ago I had a discussion with my landlord and his wife about being two weeks late on my rent and would need to pay it on the 14th of November. They were kind and said that would be fine and to come in around rent time to fill out a promissory note. During that time and now his (the landlord's) wife left him because he was very abusive. Now Sunday Nov 2nd I went in to fill out the contract to pay on the 14th and the landlord said he was evicting anyone who had anything to do with her. What can I do I am a single dad with no family in AZ.
