We recently had some water damage from a leaky toilet in a rental house we occupy collapsing a portion of the formal dining room. The leak from the toilet was caused by a faulty hose from the toilet to the wall. There was no sitting water in the small commode and with the lack of use of the formal dining room it was never noticed. Our landlord has stated that it is our responsibility since the leak was not inside the walls and that we should have noticed the damage. Both claims, the landlord and mine where denied. Now they are threatening to not renew the lease until we fix the damage.

My ceiling has fallen down and there is extreme mold im home. My rent is due. Should i have to pay rent if not repaired?

I have submitted notice on 7/28/17 that we would be non-renewing our lease and it would end, as stated in our lease, on 9/12/17. This provided excess of 30 days notice as required. They did not respond until today, 8/7/17. When we moved in, our rent for Sept '16 (9/13 - 9/30) was prorated. In our notice, I stated we would be paying the pro-rated amount of our rent due on 9/1 for the 12 days we will be occupying the apartment. The management let us know that our lease will end on 9/12, but we are responsible for the entire month of Sept. rent. I am unsure. I have communicated with them by e-mail because I wanted to document it.

My sister and her husband are divorcing and he will get custody of their two boys. He is active in the Military and currently overseas. He will be returning late September and they wish for my husband and I to care for them for a few months due to my sister moving out of state. I would like some form of legal documentation to be able to enroll them in school and seek medical care if needed. What is the quickest, easiest, and least court dependent way to do this? All parties are in agreement.

My husband is 80 and showing signs of dementia. He will want to live out his years in Arizona as a resident. He has about $770.000 in resources. I do not plan to be a resident as I have family elsewhere and allergies here, unfortunately. Also, I am 68 and have about $200.000 in resources. Will my resources be tapped if my husband outlives what he has set aside, even if I am not a resident?

When my son was arrested somehow he was wrongfully charged. It shows the wrong charges on the Az Court Records Search. I asked our attorney at the time to get the wrong charges removed but as we found out today, he did not do that... What can we do to get this taken care of? Who actually sits at a computer and puts these charges on the records search for any one to see?
