I am a single mom of 4 children (20, 19, 13, & 10). I divorced the children's father almost 8 yrs ago. I have full sole custody, and he was granted supervised visitation 2 hrs a week. Soon after the divorce, he stopped seeing or contacting the children. He currently has 5 felony warrants in the state of AZ for drugs and such and owes large fines. He fled the state about 6 yrs ago. And has not been seen or heard from since then. I want to know what I can do in lieu of custody of my children in the event of my death. Obviously the older children are safe; however, my 2 younger children I am concerned about. They do not know him or even know what he looks like. A long time fear of mine is that he could come and take them from family and friends here. Am I able to leave them to a more capable and safe guardian? And if so, what can I do without racking up large attorney fees? Thanks so much.

We have Jount Custody, with I being Primary. His parenting time is every other weekend. He is moving 175 miles away soon, do I have to meet him halfway without going to court first? I do not have reliable transportation due to him being $10,0000 behind in Child support. Would I be in contempt or would he need to get a court date to first change the parenting time to include meeting half way? Currently he is to pick them up at school and drop them back off at school, as we do not get along. Does that remain in effect till legally changed?

My partner and i are ready to have children, a girl we know came to us with the news she was pregnant and did not know what she was going to do. After a while we mentioned adopting, she was hoping we would. She is 100% about us adopting her baby. Now how do we legally do this...also my partner and i are gay so only one of us will be able to legally adopt but we are just at a total loss of what to do, how to do it, and even if this is possible.

My mother is a 100 percent disabled veteran in her 60s who tried to help a lady temporarily. For over two years this lady has lived off my mother rent free, scammed her into cosigning for a car, and has mentally and physically abused my mom. This lady's daughter is a lawyer in training aka going to school to be a lawyer and has my mom terrified to do anything to get rid of this woman. I do not know the legal steps to begin to fix my mom's life with her being held fiscally hostage as well as these other forms of abuse. Who might I seek for advice or advocacy for this?
