What rights do i have as a tenant if my land lord and his wife are on bad terms and are putting us the tenants in the middle of their martial issues. Landlord is in jail for fraud and beating up his wife. Wife picks up rent money, and landlord sends people to the house to collect rent money even through we gave it to the wife without knowing the landlord was in jail. We are not trying to be in the middle of it, but who do i give the rent money to, if the landlord wants us to give it to other people? The wife wants the money too, but here's the thing we don't have a signed lease no more.

My landlord has sold the house I am renting. I have 10 months left on the lease. The new home-owner is not buying the house as "occupied". I have agreed to move out. Do the old homeowners owe me any sort of compensation because they broke the lease (comparable to what I would owe if I were the one breaking the lease)? I had about 1 weeks notice. Thanks!

I signed away my rights to my oldest daughter when she was 3, I don't know if I'm on the birth certificate. I didn't sign it, i was in basic training when she was born. I signed away my rights so her stepdad could adopt her. I came back in the picture when she was 12. I've had regular visitation with her for the last 3 years, but want my legal rights back. The mother and adoptive father will not fight me on it, they are supportive. What do I have to do to get started.? I can not afford an attorney.
