My mother remarried when I was 2 years old. My brother and I both were enrolled in school using my stepdad's last name even though our last name was still legally our birth certificate name. I got married using stepdad's last name. My mother, real father and brother are all deceased and even though I have a certified copy of my birth certificate I am having a hard time proving that it is me, since I never used that last name. I am 65 years old and have had my driver's license since I was 16, moved to Arizona last year but cannot get my license/passport. What can I do? Terry Jaynes

My husband of 27 years moved to AZ "to find himself" well, he also found some "younger playmates" so to speak. We are till married, I am living in IL. He has been in Mesa now for over 4 years. I really don't know what my rights are to property he acquired (house he bought out there, $$ he acquired, etc) but can you direct me to some counseling, someone I can talk to for about 1/2 hr to see what I should do now. Its getting old!! Thank you.

My uncle is 82 and terminally ill. He's got $75k in credit card limits...he's taken out 50K in cash advances has transferred into his sons accounts. He owns a home with his wife, but his name is coming off of the house. He's done this to leave some $ to his heirs. His wife will pay the minimums on the credit cards after his death until she sells the house, then gift that money to her daughter. What's the legal ramifications of this after his death to his heirs. There will be no estate.

I LIVE IN AN APARTMENT SAME UNIT FOR THREE YEARS. ALWAYS I PAY MY RENT ON TIME CAUSE NO TROUBLE TO STAFF OR OTHER RESIDENTS, HARDLY ANY MAINTENANCE REQUIRED IN MY UNIT BECAUSE I RESPECT OTHERS’ PROPERTY. SO, BECAUSE HUD HAS CHOSEN TO TRY AND GET A BUNCH OF PROPERTIES REFINANCED AND SWITCH TO A CONFUSING TAX CREDIT - OR PROJECT-BASED SYSTEM, I AM NOW BEING TOLD THAT I WOULD NOW NEED TO ‘earn’ 3X my current income = 3X $851.00 a month. I am VLI, formerly homeless briefly, compliant with my treatment every day since 2013 etc. I want to be grandfathered in terminable for cause only again.
