QUESTIONS

  • My wife's neice has died. She has a 4 year old daughter that is staying with her great grandma. The father, the grandma and other family members are not eligible for custody. We are the only family capable of providing a bright future for the young girl. Do we have a chance at custody? Or should we just let the events take place.
  • My husband was evicted from the home October 24th of 2016 for domestic violence. It ends October 24th 2018. Since that time I have made up two house payments that he missed and have taken over or mortgage and have been taken overall expenses of the house including upkeep of the land. The locks were changed by the woman shelter. How can I keep him out of my home that I am paying full on myself? Is there any law or form that I need to file to keep him out?
  • What type of lawyer would I need to file a case against a police officer for tasing my 14yr old son at school? I believe it was excessive force.
  • My husband is homeless and does not really have an address. I mailed the acceptance of service plus the divorce papers to him at his last known addressvia certified mail. If I get the papers back unclaimed or undelivered can I file this along with asking for a default or do I have to go by publication? I cannot afford all these fees. I did get a deferral for the court fees but did not check for publication fees. Publication sounds like it is a hard and delaying process. I hear some saying I can file if I get the certified green card back as proof of service or even if the papers come back unclaimed. We have three kids and I am asking for sole custody.
  • I have been employed at the same job for 9 years. Can my employer ask my age? Ask if I'm going to retire? Ask if I filed for Social Security? Ask how much I will be receiving every month then cut my hours from 40 per week to 24 per week? Tell me my job is guaranteed to the end of the year and then it depends if he will keep me. I have over 24 years experience and he was going to lay me off and keep the person in their 30's who has 5 years experience because they made $6,000 less than me. Can he do this since I'm a senior citizen?
  • If I filed an order of protection against my wife but I have a court order to get my kids every other week end, will I violate my order of protection by getting them, if so will I be in violation with the visitation order
  • Can a employer ask for my age and social security number on an online application before I have been offered job and hired?
  • I have a court trial coming up. I recently put some subpoenas in 7 to be exact, and with in 16 hours had the courts call me to have pre-trial hearing in judges chambers, concerning subpoenas. I've never heard of this and was wondering what I should expect, how to carry myself, etc... Thanks
  • I recently had my DUI conviction vacated. It it my understanding that I must contact all databases that contain my conviction and inform them of the fact that it has been vacated so that they may update their system. If this is so, how do I go about doing this? I need all potential employers, etc. to see that the conviction has been set aside. Thank you.
  • if my ex husband has custody of my kids does he need my consent to move them out of state
