  • I presently residing in a over 55 complex for the past three yrs. Never had to pay for rental insurance. Now, with the new lease coming, they are asking for payment on an insurance. My question is: Is this insurance a LAW? Do I have to pay a yearly insurance or montly? If there is no law, I do not/cannot afford to pay. As well as other seniors in the complex. We only live on a SS checks. Many do not have enough to their personal needs. I cannot pay for a lawyer either. I just need to know the LAW on the subject so that I know what to do. I noticed that the landlord was charging some of the neighbors water meter to my bill. I've gone multiple times to their office and the landlord is never there. The secretary tells me she can't do anything and that I have to speak to the landlord. I've called the landlord multiple times and left messages and no answer or response from them. The bill says they will keep charging me if I don't pay the bill and evict me. What steps can I take?

  • Our heater works but does not provide airflow to the bottom story of our apartment.Twice, we asked the apartment manager directly to make repairs but repairs were never made. On Monday, we sent written notice of intent to terminate lease per ARS 33-1361(A). The apartment manager told me on Monday that someone would be over Tuesday to take a look at our unit but, again, they never showed up. Do I have grounds to terminate on Saturday if nothing is done? The term "reasonable heat" seems arbitrary and I want to make sure I have legitimate grounds for terminating my lease.
  • I'm just curious in case things go wrong. But I'm hispanic & a legal US citizen, my boyfriend is Native American & we have a a child together. From what I've heard from a friend is that by law since he's Native, that he can have full custody of our child.
