The mother of my 3 year old child was killed in a car accident recently. Paternity was established at the hospital when my child was born . Up until her death we worked out custody, child support and parenting time without having to go through the courts. She had unofficial "custody", because my child was with her when she died, CPS investigated and informs me that since it appears that mother was the custodial parent, that I need to establish custody through the courts. Can someone make sense of why I would need to establish custody, per CPS

My air condition unit went out. I contacted my landlord told him the problem. He called his maintenance/repair guy he fixed the problem 24 hours later. Now the landlord wants me to pay $800 in repairs/labor saying it was my fault due to not changing filters every month. I did change the filters every 60 days even though the filters I buy say they last up to 3 months. What's the right way to go about this situation?

I tried to evict them again last month for nonpayment of the utilities and failure to dispose of their huge pile of household trash , unfortunately I gave them a 24 hr notice to clean it up so I did not win the eviction , the verbal agreement was that they were to pay utilities water trash electric . My ex and I shared a storage unit in AZ for almost 3 years. After we broke up, he now lives in TN and I moved back to TX. I'd like to go to AZ to get a few of my things that are irreplaceable (family photos, records, diplomas, etc.) The storage unit said I no longer have access to the unit since he has removed me as an authorized user. Only he can access it or he hast to be present (he's abusive, i dont want him near me) What are my rights? Can an officer escort me to the unit? Is Public Storage that powerful as to withhold my things? Can i send public storage an affidavit to mail my things?

After 20 years we are looking to move back to the US from the UK. My wife has a British passport but had a green card when we lived in the US. We were looking to move over in September for the start of the school year but the Embassy in the UK is telling me that it will be 6 months before they even look at our I-130 petition, which I understand is only the start of the whole process. My parents are getting older and we want to be there to help them. Should we just come over and start the process (or reprocess) from the US for my wife's permanent/green card status?
