  • We have been married for 11 years. We have 4 children. While I was very sick with the fatal kind of valley fever, she claimed to have a family reunion to go to 2000 miles away. She took the children with her but never returned home. Says she has a lover from online and I can never see them again. I am not allowed to speak to my kids, do not have their address and am not allowed to write to them. My calls go unanswered or get hung up on. She is suing for child support even though I am not allowed any contact. I need help, it is like my kids were kidnapped. What should I do?
  • I was contacted by the Sheriffs dept. and told an Order of Protection was served to me the past April. I was never served any documents or aware of this. How may I get a record (copy) of this service?

My peers think that is unheard of and that I need to double check why they are asking for that personal documentation. Does it have anything to do with the laws regarding illegal immigration? Or does it have to do with checking to see if I am a legal citizen, but why can't they just use my drivers license and/or social security number?
  • Have Lived at the same complex for the past 3 years. The complex has new owners for the past several months. Old management used to give me (at my request) a copy of my check with the stamp and /or signature of received. Deadline to pay the rent is the 3rd of each month. Now the new management refuses to hand me a receipt before the 4th of the month. My question is, where is the proof that I handed the check to them in time to avoid late fees? There lot of rumors among neighbors that they are trying to scare people out to renovate more units and raise the rent. What are my rights? Thank you.
  • I was given a 5-day notice hand delivered by the landlord .. today 2/18/2015... Yet on the notice it is dated 2/5/15 and for me to pay rent in full by 2/11/2015.. is this legal to past date the notice even though I was just given the notice @5:16PM on 2/18/2015
  • My lease agreement with my landlord ended in November 2018. We are still living in the Unit, but she gave us a notice to vacate by april 6th 2020. She never made us sign another lease agreement for the last year and a half. I'm choosing to move out March 12th but the landlord is saying I still have to pay March's rent because my roommate is staying until March 31st. Am I obligated to stay and pay March's rent even though there is no new lease agreement and I signed a notice to vacate by April 6th. Which I'm leaving before that.

One being that our dryer, which they supplied, has NEVER worked and shocks us (safety issue). We've complained on several occassions (including the month we moved in). Nothing has been done, and now we can't use our dryer. Or, the fact that there wasn't for at least 7 months, common area lights outside. Now there are....or the fact that my husband fell down in an area on the complex with no lights (outside apt. complex). HELP!
