  • Due to the COVID-19 Virus my husband and I aren't letting anyone in the house and practicing social distancing. My husband isn a Pharmacist and may have been in contact. Our owner wants to refinance but we're uncomfortable letting an appraiser inside during this time. We're also afraid of the owner deciding not to let us resign due to this. We asked if they could postpone at least until quarantine is up. What should we d?
  • My father's girlfriend has lived with my father and I in the mobile home my father owns for 9 years. She pays no rent or utilities. I am dad's Power of Attorney since his stroke. How do I evict her, she does nothing around here either.

Loan is around $101,000 HELOC at 83,000 and house is worth about 145,000.We really don't know whats best for us
  • It states in my lease that the tenant, "In the event of 'the tenants' failure to give notice of 'the tenants' intention to terminate, 'the tenant' shall be liable for rent for another 30 day period. According to the apartment complex, this means that they can charge rent for an entire month after the lease expires. Is this truly legal?
  • I let a friend of mine live in my house rent free for about 7 months after she had a baby. I babysat and cared for the child while she worked and never charged her any money for childcare. After 7 months, she moved out but left most of her personal belongings in my house. It has now been 8 months since she left. How long does the law state that she has to come back and claim her belongings before her property is considered abandoned. And then do I legally take ownership of her property? I have also loaned her money which she has not paid back yet. Please advise. Thank you.
  • I have permanent guardianship of my granddaughter since 2000 she is now 13. She went for her first time out of state to see her mother for 2 weeks. When the visit was almost up she sent a message that she is not sending her back and is filing some papers and states that i can call and talk to her after thats all done. What rights does she have? How do i go about having my daughter send her back home? I researched and no papers have been filed here.can she file in that state to terminate guardianship?

Is there a way to break my lease because the landlord has not provided a "safe and habitual environment?"
