I had let a friend stay in my house as a tenant at will without a lease. She has recently become incarcerated. What is the best way to do an eviction? I will continue to keep her things in storage until she gets out of jail and not charge for that. I'm not asking for back rent or anything, just that she moves.

My power was recently turned off my APS without any notice. This was a discrepancy in billing due to an error on their side. I had no idea there was even an issue. According to them I needed to make a deposit payment to a separate account that I was not aware of. The person who set up the account did not notify me of this and made an error inputting the deposit amount. My dog was in out house with no AC while we were working and it was 105 degrees outside. I was wondering if it is legal for them to turn off our power when it is over 100 degrees without any notice.

I recently filed to relocate myself and my son to California. After his father and I could not agree on the move, the case was given to the judge for decision and it was declined. According to our parenting plan, neither parent is allowed to take the child out of state for vacation. My mom, whom has helped me raise my son since age 1, is wanting him to visit but without his dad's approval he is not able to go. Would my mom be able to file for grand parent's rights? And would this allow for him to be able to travel to California for vacation? All advice appreciated.

I was evicted from my apartment in 2010 after being admitted to the hospital and never returned for my belongings. Two years later I went back to rectify the money owed to them and clear my credit history. They had no records on me and told me they were under new management. Now it is 2015 and a collection agency is attempting to collect money in arrears due to a broken lease as well as 10% interest for the 5 years since the eviction. I want to dispute these excessive charges but do I need an attorney to help me? Please advise. Thanks.

I was unable to complete a walk through at the time my lease ended, due to my partner being hospitalized and my work schedule. We were never provided with a list of damages or costs until being contacted by collections. I did provide my forwarding address and phone number but no contact was made. I saw they are supposed to provide the documentation within 14 days. I do not believe we had a security deposit, but if we never were provided documentation in a timely manner, are we able to contest collection fees and accrued interest?

I purchased a couch that we picked up and the box had damage to it which was noted on the invoice. 130 miles round trip. Couch weights 211 pounds. Couch is defective. We wanted them to pick up the couch and bring one that works properly. She said that she will not deliver to Arizona. So either we would like our money back and they come pick up their couch or they bring us the new couch and pick up the defective item how do we stand legally to get them to do this?
