I received my electric bill this month and it was nearly 9 times what I usually pay. I think it was because of the water heater in my apartment. It was malfunctioning and wasn't heating the water correctly for about 2 days, and then it was fixed by the apartment maintenance. I've talked to the landlords at my apartment complex and it seems like they are not going to help me in any way with my electric bill. If it was the water heater, is it fair that I have to pay the electric bill for their water heater malfunctioning and sucking up electricity for 2 days?

I have a question dealing with statute of limitations. I had cosmetic surgery in July 2017. Afterwards I had Ramsey Hunt Syndrome in my left ear. I have lost balance and dizziness problems due to the damage. I had tests performed by a doctor in fall of 2019 which diagnosed the extent of damage from this. Would the statute of limitations be from date of Ramsey Hunt diagnosis or could it be from the date the damage was measured and diagnosed by a doctor?

My sister’s landlord accepted my sisters money orders for rent, but did not cash them or pay the management co. They are now trying to charge her late fees or evict. My sister got the money orders back. They are all dated as proof of payment, but the company is insisting she pay the late fees. They have a court order for eviction. What are her rights? She has the MO’s as proof! Should she go to court?

My lease ended and I moved from my apartment earlier than I originally anticipated. When planning my move I had submitted a request to forward my mail with an effective date of June 1st because I wasn't anticipating moving early but that's the way the movers worked out. I asked my old complex if they would allow me to get my mail from my box since I have turned in my keys to them already and they said no. I also asked if they would get the mail and just allow me to pick it up and they said no to that too. Are they allowed to withhold my access to my mail?

We signed a year lease on a house that we discovered upon move-in smells strongly of animal urine. There has been an initial deep cleaning, which has not solved the problem. I believe it is not repairable. We were told we could leave without breaking the lease. If the property management company does not honor that verbal contract, what information is available as a back up?
