I just moved into a house that i am renting. I received my first gas and water bill witch were outrageous prices. After calling the water and gas company we discovered that there was a leak under the house. They discovered that the remodel was done improperly breaking on of the pipes. He fixed the issue in a matter of days. But i feel that i should not have to pay the water or gas bill. He is refusing to pay them. Is there anything I can do?

I am a single mom of 4 children (20, 19, 13, & 10). I divorced the children's father almost 8 yrs ago. I have full sole custody, and he was granted supervised visitation 2 hrs a week. Soon after the divorce, he stopped seeing or contacting the children. He currently has 5 felony warrants in the state of AZ for drugs and such and owes large fines. He fled the state about 6 yrs ago. And has not been seen or heard from since then. I want to know what I can do in lieu of custody of my children in the event of my death. Obviously the older children are safe; however, my 2 younger children I am concerned about. They do not know him or even know what he looks like. A long time fear of mine is that he could come and take them from family and friends here. Am I able to leave them to a more capable and safe guardian? I am currently in the Military, expecting to get out in October, and moving from Washington (where I am currently stationed) to my home state (Arizona). Can I file for custody as soon as I am back in Arizona considering I am from there and it is still considered my home? Or do I have to file in Washington where he and I are currently stationed?

We fell on hard times and couldn't pay our car payment for a leased vehicle. They repossessed the car, sold it and now are suing us for almost the full price that it was being sold for. are we responsible for the full price of a leased vehicle. Why wouldn't we be responsible for just the remainder of the lease payments? And why should we have to pay them for a vehicle we don't have anymore. We can barely make ends meet now a garnishment would make us homeless.

My husbands adult children is talking about committing my husband because he does not make decisions without consulting me, his wife. They say in the state of Arizona, they have the right to do this regardless of what I say or feel on the issue and that spousal rights do not matter if the children want this done. We just moved to Arizona, surely this cannot be true. How can adult children that has not been around him override a wife?
