In june or july our gas was shut off due to non-payment. when a technician came to turn services back on he left a notice stating the waterheater was in unsafe condition and the light had not been lit. After consulting with Southwest gas, we were told NOT to light it ourselves under any circumstances. When we informed our landlord of this (via text message) he bombarded both my husband and I with vulgarity, and told us he wasn't fixing anything. In fact, he accused us of breaking it. We STILL have no hot water and I am now at the point where I am ready to sue. Need some guidance, please?

My boyfriend has a 17 year old son who has been caught several times smoking marijuana and we just found out he is selling it. My boyfriend kicked him out by packing his things and bringing him over to his Grandma's house. The son left that house and is now living with multiple friends and stating he has been abandoned. The problem with letting him back home is the use and selling of illegal drugs. These are things my boyfriend could be arrested for if they are found in his home. What are his legal rights to remove the son from his home without being considered a child abandonment case?

My ex stole my dog. I adopted her while we were dating, her adoption paperwork is in my name ONLY. We have since broken up, and he took her without my permission and will not return her. One cop said it's theft of personal property, but suggested trying to deal with it directly with my ex first, then follow up if she wasn't returned. I followed up and the next cop I talked to said it's not theft of personal property because I adopted her while in the relationship with my ex, and the adoption paper doesn't matter even if my ex and I were never married so it's not a criminal issue. Is this true?

We had an installer for a cable company in our house. My dog broke through the gate and bit his pants which scraped his leg. No puncture through the skin, no bleeding. Not trying to minimize what happened. It was scary. He put in a claim with his workmans comp. Now the Workmans Comp insurance company is sending us notices that we are responible to re-emburse them. The notice says "Medical Lein" Is this legal? They are being paid by the company and they also want to collect from us? The letter says I should submit a claim to my home owners insurance. Help? Thank you, J
