QUESTIONS

  • How long does a landlord have to fix the hot water heater?
  • I had a DUI in 2005. I thought everything was done. In 2014 the court issued a warrant for my arrest ( I found out because they suspended my concealed weapons license ) .I called the city court and they said it was over a DUI in 2005. I went to court , and the judge said I did not do 36 hours of alcohol treatment. I had receipts for traffic school, MADD school, level 1 school . The attorney I had, when I called him, said that a retired judge was going back thru all the DUI cases because Tucson was broke and was trying to get more money from everybody. Is this legal after 9 years?
  • I co-own property in CA. There are 3 of us still living on the title, myself, my brother and 1 other lady. I need to sell at least my portion ASAP, but cannot get the woman to even acknowledge my attempts to contact her. I spoke to her once and she seemed very nice and said she would help in any way. Since then she has not answered any of my calls or letters. My question is, do I need a lawyer to help convince her to co-operate, and if so, do I need to get one in AZ. or CA.? If I don't need a lawyer, can you please tell me where I can get help with this matter. She lives in CA. Thank-you.
  • I was approved for food stamps, how do I get a card?
  • where do i get the paperwork to begin the 'set aside' process?
  • Someone broke my window with a baseball from the outside. The landlord is charging me the cost incurred to fix the window. Is this my responsibility?
  • my husband has a 7 year old daughter from a previous relationship we moved here from hawaii to be closer to her. in dec. 2012 she came to live with us, now in 3/2013 her mom wants her back when the school year is over. does my husband have any rights. he loves his daughter and wants her to live with us. his daughter like living with us too what can we do? were do we start? does he have a right to keep her? or does he have to just give her up again? my husband is heart broken Her mom doesnt have a stable job or home. when we got her they were living in a domestic violence shelter WHAT TO DO??
  • I found a statute saying a victim of domestic violence can terminate lease without repercussion but my landlord won't accept. What do I do?
  • Say a debt collector calls you, and you offer a monthly payment because thats is all you can afford. They say no thats not enough, you have to pay more. Then when you tell them you cannot afford anything more. they threaten to garnish your wages. It has been quite sometime since they have sent me any corospondance in regard to this debt, and so I thought it had been written off due to the facit it is on my credit as a bad debt. What  should I do in this matter?
  • My mothers health has drastically changed and she only lives on social security, a very small disability bi-weekly stipend and has medicare. While my mother has been accepted for medicaid as a secondary insurance, she will have to contribute monthly of $406 so that she will be able to have full time home health care (vs only part time with medicare). This expense will make it impossible to help her pay her credit card debts off. My mother needs to contribute to medicaid but then won't have enough to pay off her debts. What are options as far as her credit cards? Should I close them (with her on the phone) and let them know that she is unable to pay so we'd need a settlement price? Or just walk away? I am unsure of her options as my original plan was to help her pay them off one by one.
