QUESTIONS

  • Someone broke the front window of the house I am renting. I called the police and filed a report but the landlord says that she doesn't have to fix it because there haven't been any other windows in the neighborhood, so I must have been targeted. Shouldn't the landlord have to fix it?
  • Can an order to appear be filed before the petition is actually served?
  • A couple of years ago I left my two small children in the care of my brother while I worked 2 jobs to support us. There was then an incident while I was at work and long story short I got charged with class 1 misdemeanor Contributing to the dependency and delinquency of a minor. I completed the year probation and the parenting classes. This was the first and only time I had ever been into trouble. I'm in school and I need to get a fingerprint card for Nursing. How can I, and am I able to get this charge cleared from my record. I'm just a single mom who's trying to better my children's lives.
  • I moved in with my girlfriend who own a house, while I live with her, I pay rent, I help her with home improve such paint, clean up back yard and some repair, now we don't get along, I want my money back or compension for help with home improve, but I didn't pay for materials, just labor, I didn't ask for money for help with house improve or anything, I just pay for rent and sleep with her, do I have right?
  • If we live in a gated senior community, what is the responsibility of the Landlord to notify residents of an uptick in crime?
  • I signed a year lease, and moved into these apartments on 12-14-2012. That lease ended 12-31-2013, but we wanted to stay in the complex, but in a downstairs unit. None were available then, so I signed what should have been a 3 month lease, but when I read it again, it shows the lease started on 4-1-2014, and terminates on 3-31-2015. We finally moved downstairs, and I signed a year lease on 5-19-2014, that terminates on 4-30-2015. My landlord is "renovating" and isn't renewing my lease. However, she has the terminating date as 3-31-2015, which was the old lease's date. What should I do?
  • I recently leased my home to a family. The house is 4300 sqft has a shelved/ closeted garage, an attic and a shed. The tenants have storage space within the house and a small amount of space in the garage. I left some of my belongings in the attic, the garage and household items in the shed. Am I allowed to store my belongings in my garage and attic as it is still my house.
  • My child's mother did not put me on the birth certificate. I have had a hostile relationship with her and was forced to give 100% of my paycheck just to see my daughter the first 3 years, leaving me with no room to pay legal fees to establish paternity and support. She also has not filed for support. I have not been in contact with the mother in 3 years nor has she been in contact with me. At this point, I would like to sever my parental rights even though I am not legally established as the father so I can move on with my life. Is this possible?
  • My husband's divorce was finalized in AZ. The 1998 divorce Parenting Plan had a clause saying "Both parties agree to designate the child as their sold beneficiary on all life insurance policies and as the sole beneficiary of their respective estates. In the event either party remarries, the remarried party agrees to maintain the child as a beneficiary of at least 50% of their life insurance policy and estate." He just passed and his now 24 old, married, not living at home, not disabled, daughter is informally contesting his will. I know he believed this was not longer valid, I need to confirm.
  • How much time does a constable or sheriff should give you to leave the apartment after they knock on your door after your evicted?
