QUESTIONS

  • After I moved into my apartment, I found that when it rained hard, my closet had water coming in on the floor and my window was no sealed properly. They say they are working on getting bids but it has been 3 months and no repairs. Also, 2 weeks ago, I reported termite tuunnels in the said closet and have pointed out that they are growing in number an d length and still no date of treatment. What are my rights as a tenant?
  • A few years ago my wife co-signed on an auto loan with her friend. She gave them her contact information, but was not the primary on the account. We ran her credit report recently, and discovered that her friend has been more than 30 days late close to 80% of the time over the last couple years. This has killed my wife's credit. We spoke to the bank, and found that they have been in contact with "her", and have signed documents from "her". My wife has not been in contact with the bank at all. So, how How can we convince the bank it wasn't her they were speaking to?
  • Paternity and support. I have been summons that says that I have been named the father of a child. It says that I am hevy summoned and required to appear and defend in the abouve entitled action, in superior court within twenty days to respond. I went to the required class that they talk about but, I have no idea what to do from here?

However, I received a notice on a bright red paper taped to my door the past 2 days saying my account is deliquent and due immediately. Is it legal for them to do that after giving a 7 day notice in which the 7 days have not expired yet?
  • The apartment above mine had a toilet over flow. it leaked through my ceiling and damaged my daughters bed all her toys and clothes, my kitchen table, my wood furniture, went through the cabinets and wet all my dishes and cups (I cant use them after they have had toilet water on them) my couches and the ceiling has water pockets and carpet was mushy and soaked my linen closet was all wet and damaged everything I had in there. can I get out of my lease without paying? Are the Apartments responsible for my belongings or the tenants above me responsible or am I just screwed? my apt stinks!
