Four years ago I was arrested for a misdemeanor NSF check charge. I paid the check, no conviction was entered, the case was dismissed. However, the arrest still appears on my record. Is it possible to get this arrest record expunged? I am applying for a federal job that requires a criminal background check and would love to not have this arrest appear on my record.

For the last 8 years I have been paying my landlord cash. I did fall a little behind and was making payments. I never kept track and now he says I am 6 months behind and gives a hand written payment sheet for the last 2 years. He wants about $7000.00 he never gives me receipts and wants cash. I have had to go buy all new appliances because when something breaks down he repairs them and they don't last. There is also a lot of problems (unsafe) we have told him about and he does not repair. Can he legally evict us or take us to court.

I am a stepparent. My husband's ex indicated that I can not sign permission slips for the kids to attend school field trips. I checked with the district and they said I could as long as my husband agreed. I always send a copy of the permission slip to his ex (she has never provided the same courtesy to my husband). I want to do what is right and legal. May I continue to sign permissions slips and pay for field trips or must my husband sign these slips?

My childrens mother and I agreed to let the kids come with my wife and I to Japan for 4 years. I have joint custody of my kids. But they live with their mother full time. I went to a lawyer for my divorce. He quoted "about $1500.00, maybe a little more." Due to mistakes his people made the divorce took about 8 months. He is now billing me for over $10,000.00. There was no fighting between my former spouse and me, at all. He will not tell my why the cost is more than six times the original amount, and he is now adding interest of 18%.
