QUESTIONS

  • I have three kids and my husband filed for divorce in Iowa...I moved to Arizona two weeks ago and I was wondering if I have to get a lawyer from Iowa or can I have a lawyer from Arizona...and does anyone know of how I would be able to get a lawyer for free because I am a single mother and can't afford a lawyer.
  • I am a condo owner, I live in the unit and rent out my 2nd bedroom to someone. We have a lease, and we have also been working under the agreement that we switch off paying for things that we share, for example paper towels, light bulbs in the common areas, etc. However, she is now refusing to purchase a new furnace filter, saying that is a 'maintenance item' and is my responsibility. I think this falls under the 'damages due to negligence' clause in the lease. I plan to take the cost of the filters out of her last month's rent and her lease-end date be moved up accordingly. Is that legal?
  • My wife is permanatly disabled under social security disablity. Part of her disablitiy is problems with comprehension. Between her learning disablity and hearing impairment, she has a really hard time comunicating with doctors and insurance companies. She just can't comprehend these things. She wants me to be her Medical Power of Attorney so that she doesn't have to deal with insurance companies customer service. The only information I can find is related to seniors. Can you help us? Where to go.. who to see?
  • I was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and released on OR, missed a court date and brought in in a warrant. I was released on supervised release. I left the state and never went back. It has been 20 years. I want to get it cleared up because it comes up when my fingerprints are run for employment and concealed carry permit. Is this past the statute of limitations? Is the law different because I left the state?
  • I am asking for my 89-year-old parents who live in a senior independent living facility in Tucson. They are coming up on a lease renewal in mid June, however, we are planning to move them to another Senior independent living facility in Sept or October to get them closer to me, as I am their primary caregiver. Can they get out of this new lease without penalty?
  • I wish to evict my 18 year old son. There has never been a lease as he has been a minor until recently. There are reasonable household rules regarding drinking, drugs, smoking, language, chores, etc. He chooses to disobey rules because he claims he can as an adult. He neither works nor pay rent nor contributes financially. How do we evict him?
  • My boyfriend and I have been together since mid 2005. He recently purchased a home in only his name. We are planning on getting married in april of next year. After marriage do I automatically become co- ownr? If we do not get married how long will it take for me to be considered co- owner without him actually havng to add my name to the title?
  • Can the apartment management come in to my apartment and take photographs? I refused but they did it anyway, I asked him to leave and he ignored me. The photos included my entire kitchen, my pantry that I purchased and it has glass doors (not part of the apartment, a stand alone cabinet) and my bathroom. We had recent repairs but he didn't take photos in the areas repaired and refused to answer why. My personal belongings were in the photo. The apartment was very clean, nothing Out of compliance but I feel my rights were violated.
  • My father is 94 and is in critical condition. We checked his will for the first time and we have some concerns. His will was made out in 1988 when he was a widower and had 4 adult live children. He since has remarried and lost two children. Is this will null because of the change circumstances?
  • I signed A Asis rent to own mobile home, the landlords/leeseer didn't tell me I had to fix everything from the plumbing to the electric an gas hook ups. She said it was move in ready. We've been living camping style since we got here. What can I do about this mess up.
