I am being evicted for complaining. I was served papers at 5:30 on Friday the 12th. I went to the courthouse Monday morning and filed an answer. There was not a judge at the time, the court clerk told me to sign the papers and she would get it taken care of. I also filed a counterclaim. I had to appear in court on the 18th. I appeared in court and asked the judge for a couple days extension so I could have ample time get legal council...he refused. He would not allow me to enter any evidence, pictures, letters, etc. I have 5 days to move....I signed a lease! Can you help me understand

in my apartment with no air conditioner. It is very hot and humid in my apartment and it makes me feel as if I want to faint I advised my manager serval times of the situation and all she can say is im calling my boss to see about the ac guy . I went in the other day to speak to the manager to see if the maintance man will be in today and she advised me that he wouldnt so i advised her that i would be moving i really dont want to but it is to hot that i have to. she stated that if i do that i will then be breaking my lease and iowe what ever months are reamining.Is there anything else i can do

I’m trying to give my landlady my 30 day notice as well as my last months rent. I’ve tried going to her office when she didn’t come to the door I tried calling her and left a voicemail. Finally I’ve sent her a text as well as a photo of my written notice and I’ve had no response. Since I have proof of trying to contact her of my notice does it still count until I can get her the actual notice in person if she ever responds? I’m getting ready to move into my new place and I’m worried she might try to say she never received notice.

My son had a girlfriend that is having a baby any day. The girlfriend has been with us and under our care untill recently. She has grown up in a unstable and unsafe and abusive living environment. The mother who has custody recently came back into her life with her boyfriend that use to molest the girl I'm speaking of. The girl was living with her great grandma and they moved onto the property and she feels unsafe there and they made her go back . When she had her baby can she and my son sign a pepper giving me legal custody of the baby untill they are 18 . Please help asap. Thank you.

I recently entered in to a lease with myself, my long time girlfriend, and her friend. We used my credit to qualify because neither of them has credit. The friend and I put most of the money down for the deposits and all utilities are in my name. Less than a month after we made the move, my girlfriend terminated our relationship. The two of them expect me to go on living there with them until the end of the lease. I am not ok with that. Is there is any way I can force them to find someone to sign in place of me on the lease and refund my deposit money so I can move out? They refuse to go

I received an eviction notice on my door at 8pm, after returning home from work, on November 25th. The court date is set for Dec.1st. This gave me no time to request off from work. The only 2 business days are Friday and Monday. They sent me a 5 day notice certified mail, but the part I am supposed to sign is already removed. This has happened before. I have received this before the same way. My question is what to do about my court date when I am already scheduled to work on the 1st. Is it legal to allow 2 business days before receiving eviction papers and court date?
